Sooo, recent meditation has inspired me to share my views on the the topic of "soulmates". B4 I shred this myth to pieces I probably need to define wut I and many commonly understand the term to mean..
" a person ideally suited to another as a close friend or romantic partner"
-My mac's lil dictionary thingie
*The one person in the world MEANT for you and only you.
Its nuts to think that there is 1 person out of the 6 billion people on the planet that you could love romantically, flourish and have a good life with. I hate when people say that they have found their soul mate! HOW DO YOU KNOW?! I mean, how do you know FOR SURE?!
I dont believe you can know for sure...
If you "find your soulmate" in Houston where you grew up and went to school, then you have eliminated the billions of other potential partners that might very well be a adequate candidates for your esteemed "soulmate" position. Did you go to New york and meet all the women there? Or did you spend some time in Florida to meet and eliminate all the men there? Really,... its not even fair of you to make such a judgement!
Poor Ricky Noname in Arkansas who was BORN to love you, in that he is attracted to women like you and has everything that you desire in a man, but because Ricky never entered your realm of life due to your location you marry your neighbor and deem him your "soulmate". REALLY?!
Look, I'm not a bitter jerk without a heart. I believe that you can find somebody that you can LEARN to love, because I think love takes work. Finding love is great, but the term "soulmate" is flawed and often confused with "sole" mate, which is a highly romanticized way of thinking that I blame popular media for. It leads people to believe that love is less creating a soulmate than it is finding one. Anybody has the potential of becoming your soulmate,
1st- if God says its gravy.lol
2nd- If you can see yourself living a full happy life with the individual.
3rd- ..and If you don't mind investing the time and work it takes to build a relationship
Look, Im prolly not who you should be takin love advise from, cuz my love life stays in shambles, but I just wanted you to think next time you use or hear someone else use the term "soulmate"...
ha!
