wtf is goin on in music?!

For like 2 weeks straight I took a light hiatus from listening to any music. Y?

Well I was exposed to a lot of info on certain artists intentions in their music and I was deeply disturbed. To say the least, I was wrecked, in that I truly enjoy these artists music. In fact, alot of ppl do; they are forerunners in their genres. The accusations were not new to me, and I had always found a way to rationalize the situation, protecting me from giving up what I enjoyed.

As evidence has surmounted and the same accusations increase with no rebuttal or mention by the accused parties or the surrounding media I have no choice but to accept that there may be little truth in what accusers say.

SO... I have demoted some artists from heavy listening to barely at all and I am now on a journey to find new, fresh, interesting talent that has not yet bought into the system that I see the music industry is and has always been.

BECAREFUL TO WHAT YOU LISTEN TO!!!... neway, lighter note....

Just listened to a few albums that are becoming my favorites....

I get my clothes form EVERYWHERE!! I rarely spend big money on ANY item. I own a burberry tie, and that is the ONLY thing that I have ever purchased at retail price (girls will make u do some crazy things... "omg, Onaome, u look soooo good in that tie!"... but thats another story for another day). I am a HUGE thrifter, in that I am in love with finding items that I KNOW no one else would have or duplicate... It helps to makes my style unique.

Dont get me wrong, deep in my heart I want to be a sneakerhead and I appreciate alot of the urban wear that is coming out these days. I love ralph lauren juss as much as the next man, in that I think its TIMELESS, so its almost a given that ANYBODY would have at least one polo item.

What i really want to share is where my closet is going. This is what's exciting... Since I'll be working for the rest of my life and money is slowly but surely comin in, I will have less opportunity to wear my chucks and jeans. Rather I will have to find a style within the parameters of what is acceptable in the business world. So, I have a vision that suits me and it is best encompassed by one retailer.

Malaria gone..?

I was watchin CNN this evening and they had a very interesting story on Malaria, so I took notes..

They have pinpointed the origins of the malaria virus that has plagued most of the African continent. They now have conclusive evidence that that the virus was transfered to humans by chimpanzees. They found an older strain of the virus in chimps and are still unclear as to how the transfer happened, but this along with other evidence supports the claim that a transfer, indeed, was made.

What does this do for us? Well, this is a huge discovery that will definitely help in finding ways to eradicate the virus. No claims have been made of making a vaccine from the malaria strain in the chimps blood, like they did with small pox and the infected cows with a different strain.

Malaria kills more than 1million ppl a year.

Now, I am not an expert on the subject, by any means, but this story reminds me a lot of the claims on how AIDS came about... from monkeys! They said the same thing!!! So, either we need to juss wipe out all the chimps so some new virus doesn't show up, or someone is lying!

Man, i dunno... think freely.

Its no new story, but we all know that Kanye's new boo is the stunning Amber Rose. Ex-video girl/model and current arm-candy, Amber Rose is no doubt a stellar specimen in her own right. She has a figure that most men dream of, and a sense of style that is unique and complimentary to Yeezy.

Now, her expressive hair style is what draws me to the blog once again... I must admit, that though odd... it works.... FOR HER.

It has come to my attention that there has been a recent epidemic of followers trying to knowingly, or subconsciously emulate Amber's hairstyle. Not tryna knock any in particular person, but I want women out there to be careful when trying to pull off such a look.

My success rating would be that there is a 10% chance that anyone could pull it off. In plain, if you dont have the millions of dollars (no matter if its yours or ur bf's) or the super star bf.... u may wanna refrain from making such a move. It wouldnt be a crime if Amber was the ONLY woman with that haircut, trust me...

WHY DOES THE RADIO BLOW!!! (excuse my verbage.lol)

Remember there was a time when the radio was all we had? I remember the "Roll Call" on 97.9. I remember actually listening to the top 8 at 8. I remember recording songs off the radio with my tape recorder. I REMEMBER those days where the radio was not only prevalent, but almost necessary for a normal social life, so to speak.

Im not blaming the current "suckiness" of the radio on the actual radio biz, cuz I understand that it is juss that, a business. YES, the CRAPOLA that they play over and over again until you have subconsciously memorized all their words, is not necessarily GOOD music (pun intended...hint.) but it is the music that, believe it or not, sells, and sells well.

I am juss happy that we live in a time where ppl dont need the radio to be discovered. The internet has blown the music industry wide open and more artists get exposure. My suggesstion to all music lovers is to turn off your radio and hop on the pc and discover a talent. Doesnt matter wut genre, there's juss a different type of satisfaction when you jam to somebody that no one knows! Key step after you find somebody....

Kells?...eh :/same ol, same ol...

So Kells is back. Homie done cut his hair!! The song is called "Number One" and I have to say that I dont think it will live up to its title. Of course the song is talking about the "number one" sexual experience, as is typical with Mr. Kelly. Keri Hilson is featured on the song, and being that she is my future wife, she is a VERY good look for the song.

Honestly, I cant let R. Kelly back into my musical world, and its not because of wut u think!! Ppl mess up, so I would never hold that against nobody. Shoot, I cant wait to see Chris breezy jumpin around agin on stage! lol Naw, but with R. Kelly is for different reasons. I hate to say it, but as legendary as he is, these other artists have successfully dubbed his sound and have mastered it. How can I listen to Dream, who is EVERYWHERE, and Neyo, who is a now a MEGA STAR, both of which owe good portions of their careers to the likings of my boi Kells, and then still feel like listening to Kelly when he hasnt brought anything new to the table?!

Im sorry, but I juss dont see myself buying a Kelly cd ever again. DONT get me wrong, of course the man is talented, but he is just no longer prevelant in music today.

Plus, he is too old to still be being goofy on tracks about sex. Listen to the spanish line he says at the end of this track...ridiculous. we here enough of that type of stuff from a Dream ("you shoulda got braids" ha! genius...lol).
