DOWNLOAD her mixtape with Questlove of the Roots NOW!! Smooth Ridin' music. Lauryn Hill-esque...
Here is a lil of it..

Im dumb.. I know.lol

Is there another word for synonym?

Isn't it a bit unnerving that doctors call what they do "practice"?

guys dont usually do this...

I'm invloved in a few weddings right now, so I've been included in many a convo on the subject. Man, chicks love this stuff.. they can talk for days about wedding preperations and what not...

So I started thinkin about where I wanted to be married... I like the mansion idea.. peep this. Its in the Woodlands, TX.

kinda beatsy..

the pink is wack.. but the grounds are dope... 12 acres!

only a lil bit of the room. Room for 500 guests they say... gonna need it. Im a have so many Africans in this joint..lol

picture electric sliding, and african music... not wuteva they doin..lol

Like my Dad says to me ALL the time...
"Gotta find someone to marry first!"

What u must, or what u want...

"Do what you love."
                                                                                    They say.

I have to believe that millions of teenagers to young adults across the globe are plagued with the same dilemma in life; should I pursue what I love, or should I pursue what is safe...?

The glorified answer that is commonly given in our society is to
"chase your dreams!"
"If you love what you're doing, then money will follow!"
and so on an and so on...

Being a realist and a avid bubble-popper, I disagree with the above mentioned statement. Not fully, but to a certain extent.

On this planet, and in this life, we all can agree that there are better decisions than others. The daily decisions that we make reap consequences, good or bad. Building on that principal, I would say that when all things are considered there are decisions that  have a higher success rate than others. "Success" will be defined as financial stability for the time being, but, dont worry, we will revisit this later.

For example, the world needs and will always need health professionals. (Nurses, pharmacists, doctors, physical therapists, etc..) The demand for these professions is high and if one could bear the schooling required, a well-paying job will almost be guaranteed to them.

Africans get pressured into this crap ALL THE TIME by their parents!! And it blows. The reality although, is that our parents are merely exposing the BETTER decision. The high percentage shot, if you will.

On the other hand, those that drop everything to pursue music careers, modeling or being famous in some capacity, I have to say, are blinded by the alluring lights of popular media (almost like one of those bug-light zapper thingies). Riches and fame are propagated to the point that we overlook the very simple fact that the rich and famous make up only 1% of the global population. The chances of "making it" are extremely slim.

If you find yourself "loving" one of these lesser career paths that I speak of, the odds are stacked heavily against you. If you are wise, the life choice is simple..

Ok, I know what you're thinking. this is a harsh and miserable way to look at/live life. And I would say that you are CORRECT!! It is messed up, but thats life. You don't have to live miserably though...

I say embrace both sides of the spectrum... check it.
1. Love God.
2. Consciously Prioritize. Work hard in school, though you may not enjoy it, or LOVE it, realize that it is  necessary. Bust your butt, so that you set yourrself up as a game-changer and not one manipulated by the game. Get the job that is going to allow you to provide for your wife and family like you have always wanted, cuz that is where true happiness should stem from; helping those around you, not the glorification of your peers.
3. Realize, that Love, again, is work. You may not LOVE your profession at first, but pray about it, and I bet you can find a way to learn to love your job... <<< this is difficult, but I believe its do-able in any situation.
4. Lastly, by putting yourself in a good position, you will find ways to enjoy bits and pieces of those dreams that you always had.

Success is different for different people. I understand this. So, if for you success is living under a bridge, but playing music that you love all day everyday, then so be it. <<< I cant help but say that with a hint of what seems like sarcasm, but believe it or not, Im serious.

Look, I wish I could drop everything I'm doing and go sit on the steps of a major tv network and beg until they give me a late night talk show... Now, that COULD happen... but most likely not. So, I gotta do what I gotta do (intern, do well in law school, get a good job, etc...) to provide for my future twins.

eh, but wut do i know. be free.. let me know wut you think!

late night thought...

We all want to be rich, but we condemn rich people/celebrities as bad or immoral people. Like they had to be doing something evil to maintain there status. What will people say when YOU make it?

Sounds like a pointless cycle, huh? It probably is. PEOPLE will never get it right. Don't chase riches...

"loving a lie,
not realizing in Adam all die.."
-Lauryn Hill "Mystery of Iniquity"
-ref. 1st Corinthians 15:22 (btw)
Let go and Let GOD.

goodnight, and be free..

Party Evolution..

This past weekend I took a trip back to my alma mater for Homecoming. All in all... good times. Up until this weekend my day-to-day was much less than eventful, so a break was definitely past due. I cant explain how good it was to see everybody again. Some old, some young, it was juss good to catch up and see where people are in life. I stayed sippin for most of the weekend, so that also enhanced my experience juss a smidge, but even without that I would have had a PHENOMENAL time.

While up there, I not only observed the alumni and older generation that showed up, but the new generation that is now running my old stomping grounds...

The following is not to offend or disrespect and in that regard I will refrain from mentioning any specific names of individuals or entities. Juss my opinion/perspective. Dont like it? then COMMENT... don't juss mug me next time u see me...lol

I had already heard from a few, that that the campus crowd had been downgraded as far as class goes. It was brought to my attention that there is a new wave of "ratchetness" and its spreading like wildfire. Well, excuse my ignorance, but I think I got a complete picture of what they were talking about when I attended a homecoming party this weekend. My observations, in list form, are as follows in sequential order.lol:

1. Doors swing open and the heat may have been enough for me to turn around. No problem tho. I've been at hotter venues...
2. As soon as my eyes adjust to the darkness, I see that I have mistakingly wandered into a LOCKER ROOM.
     - guys= white tee, under armor, wife beaters, basketball shorts etc
     - girls= sneakers, shorts, and tanks...
***let me be fair, and say that this did not represent the entire population, but I'm gonna go ahead and say 50%***
3. SWEAT EVERYWHERE..
4. violent dancing. lol, "hit dat hoe, franky, flex, etc" all requiring the pumping of your fists or elbows..lol
5. SWEAT EVERYWHERE
6. Fellas on fellas... u know wut i mean. Guys dancing with themselves. NOT LYIN: saw 2 dudes "jigging" one behind the other and the one behind thought it would be cool to put is hand on his potnas head while they both jigged their lives away!...c'mon man... but i digress
7. SWEAT EVERYWHERE
8. Boys talkin gun talk more and more these days ... these kids dont just fight no more..

Dress Code
I mentioned this a few times since then, and it may sound stupid, but I HATE, I repeat I HATE, ladies that dress to a party TO DANCE...
"Nuh uh, u know I cant dance in dem heelz.."
"I cant break nobody off in that dress.."

lol. Dont get me wrong, dancing is coo, and thats what you come to a party to do usually, but lets not totally ignore the social, interpersonal aspect of a party..
Like, they REALLY be talkin bout dancin. DANCE and thats it...lol HAHAHA, sry that funny to me.
I thought men thought like this when getting ready for a party,
"Party tonight. I want to look good for these ladies
which usually translates into you dressing accordingly..lol

Music/Dancing
A lot of that Dallas boogie stuff is fun, but damn... enough is enough.
We may be all Jigged out .. no joke.

Now, I am not condemning this new generation, I guess its just not me, and thats 4SURE. I am just curious to know how does this generation compare to other generations b4 it. Were old heads saying this about my generation as well? Is the disdain that we have for skinny jeans now, the same as that for the baggy jean and oversized shirt era? The truth is I DONT KNOW, but I am worried about the battlefield that is the college party at Sam... yea I said it.

Seems like this culture came out of no where. Makes me wonder what will be the next big thing to sweep these kids away... eh.
fellas in dresses?...nah....wait... naahhhh...
